When Chocolate And Pumpkin Come Together, Beautiful Things Happen!

These Chocolate Pumpkin Pie Bars have a chocolate peanut butter swirl topping. The inside is creamy, just like pumpkin pie, but there’s a special surprise here. There isn’t a hint of oil, dairy, flour or refined sugar!

Only healthy ingredients like pumpkin, white beans, oats and peanut butter are inside. Don’t be fooled though, this is still a dessert. Slightly sweet, with the addition of maple syrup, these chocolate pumpkin pie bars are totally vegan, but everyone will love them.

There comes a day each fall where it seems like my tastebuds flip on the switch for pumpkin. This is especially true for Thanksgiving. The holiday may come and go, but I do tend to get a little obsessive with pumpkin. By the time I’m done, I’m really done.

One of my favorite fall baking secrets is pumpkin pie spice extract! I’ve turned chocolate chip muffins into Pumpkin Spice muffins, and enjoyed many coffees by adding a little to my morning brew.

For this recipe, I’ve used both pumpkin spice extract AND chocolate extract. Plus, I used processed cocoa powder – which I think is the best out there. The pumpkin spice extract really pumps these bars with fall spices!

Quick Tip: For a more delicate swirl effect, use a toothpick instead of a knife.
