There Is Nothing More Delicious Than This Giant, Ooey Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookie!

  • Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie

I’m pretty sure there is no dessert more epically delicious than this skillet chocolate chip cookie. It’s totally indulgent, over the top and perfect for serving to a crowd when you’re short on time. Instead of baking individual cookies pop this in the oven and in less than an hour you’ll have the perfect dessert that everyone will love.

My son requests this recipe every year for his birthday and my daughter loves it topped with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s like the most perfect, ooey, gooey and chocolatey chocolate chip cookie you’ll ever have. ‘Nuff said!

Ingredients

1 cup butter

1 cup brown sugar

½ cup white sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

2 cups + 2tbsp flour

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

¾ cup milk chocolate chips

¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

In a 10 or 12 inch cast iron skillet, melt butter over medium heat stirring often, until it starts to bubble and is completely melted. Turn heat to low and add sugar and brown sugar, stirring well. Keep stirring until smooth and glossy. It can be helpful to use a whisk to break up any lumps of sugar.

Chill for 10-15 minutes.

Remove from refrigerator or freezer and add eggs and vanilla and stir well.

Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt.

Mix in chocolate and stir to combine.

Bake at 325 degrees for 26 – 33 or until the edges are lightly golden brown. The inside will still be slightly gooey and that’s the way it’s meant to be. If the edges start to brown before the center is done cover them with foil. But don’t overbake!
