Pumpkin flavored anything is my idea of a perfect fall dessert. Throw in some pecans and I will be elated. This recipe takes this pecan pumpkin combination to a whole new level by adding another element I love- cobbler. A pumpkin, pecan cobbler- I am in love already.
You start off by making a rich and spicy pumpkin cake batter which fills a cake pan or casserole dish. Pecans and a sweet, sweet layer of delicious sugar mix is spread on top and then comes the coolest part of this recipe- you pour hot water over the entire dish to make the cake extra moist. Don’t stir the water though even though it is so tempting! Just trust us and pop the beautiful watery mess into the oven and wait. The smells of pumpkin will fill the air and prepare you for the amazing dessert about to come your way!
Forty minutes later you will be looking at the best fall dessert anyone could ask for. An almost molten lava pumpkin cake with a cobbler crumble and crunchy pecans tossed inside. There has never been a more perfect fall dessert!
