This Is A Masterpiece, But Easier To Make Than You Might Think

How cute is this Halloween pumpkin cake? I know there are a lot you inspired baker-types out there that are just itching to get your hands on a recipe for making a nice, round pumpkin cake! But how do you make a round cake, exactly? I have never seen a round cake pan, so I was very curious how Lise made her stunning Halloween-themed cake.

The trick, it seems is in using two “half-circles” of cake. Okay, I still have never seen a half-circle cake pan. Ah, but there are those clever contraptions known as Bundt pans. They are almost half-circles, right? Maybe with a little bit of finagling and finesse, a couple of squiggly Bundt pans could produce a nice, round pumpkin of a cake.

But hold on, just a minute! Bundt pans produce cakes with holes in the middle. How do you solve that problem? I don’t see any holes in this Halloween pumpkin cake. The trick is to also bake three muffins, and you fill in the holes with those.

Maybe this type of puzzle-in-a-cake is old hat to you experienced bakers, but it is an entirely new concept to me! But now that I’ve seen how it works, my baking horizons have expanded.

What’s cuter than a Halloween Pumpkin Cake? This one is easy to make with 2 Bundt pans to create the pumpkin shape. It’s not only shaped like a pumpkin but it’s a pumpkin flavored cake too.

Quick Tip:  The frosting is a buttercream frosting. It is NOT recommended that you use your favorite cream cheese frosting as a substitute, as that type of frosting is not as easy to use for decorating as buttercream frosting.
