If You Have Chocolate And Candy Canes, Then You Can Make This Peppermint Bark In A Snap

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! There is nothing quite like the taste of peppermint candy canes to make you feel all Christmassy inside! I am delighted to share with you all the fun recipes I enjoy making at Christmas time – like this Homemade Peppermint Bark!

We have a family tradition of our tree and all the Christmas decorations going up on December 1st, so it has been a bit of a treat preparing all my baked goods for the month long holiday season.

I discovered this chocolate bark recipe last year – and made it even tastier this year with the addition of the dark chocolate as the base, instead of milk. You can of course omit the dark chocolate or change it to Milk Chocolate if you prefer, but I like the contrasting sweetness flavors.

When I am making recipes like this, I always use bars of chocolate that I enjoy eating rather than baking chocolate. Use your favorite chocolate bar, and you will be so impressed with the difference!

There is no point trying to cut this with a knife! I always just break it up into chunks with my hands, and it forms a rough bark looking shape – hence the name!
