Imagine the delight on the faces of your youngest Halloween party guests when they see these cinnamon sugar tortilla crisps set out for their enjoyment on your party buffet table. Watch their faces light up when they bite into these crispy confections.

Even though these are a simple treat to make, their universal appeal makes them a Halloween buffet offering that will be enjoyed by both children and adults of all ages. For the children, these treats may be making a new food memory. For the adults, they may bring up happy childhood memories of their own. Regardless, these will be an instant hit!

 

INGREDIENTS

¼ cup sugar

1½ tsp cinnamon

4 Tbsp. butter, melted

2 flour tortillas

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside.

Cut each flour tortilla into small wedges or use a cookie cutter to cut out Halloween shapes from the tortillas.

Mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl and spread it evenly over the bottom of a small plate.

Melt butter in a small bowl by heating it in 30-second increments in the microwave.

Dip tortilla pieces in melted butter, wipe excess off by passing piece between your finger and thumb, and then dredge one side in the cinnamon sugar mix.

Place dredged tortilla pieces, cinnamon sugar side up, on the lined baking tray and bake for 10 minutes or until the tortilla crisps reach your desired level of crispiness. Remove from oven and cool for 2 minutes on wire racks.

Quick Tip:  To make these sugar & cinnamon crisps crunchier, you can fry the cut tortilla shapes in olive oil, and then either dip the tortilla pieces into a mix of sugar and cinnamon or pour the mix over the tortilla fried tortilla shapes.
