This Far-From-Ordinary Dessert Is So Good, You’ll Be Licking Your Bowl!
I think that the slow cooker is one of the best kitchen tools ever invented! You probably have used yours to cook delicious soups, stew and main dish casserole-type recipes. Maybe you have even used it to cook some completely new side dishes. But here’s a revelation – you can use your slow cooker to make desserts! Boy howdy, now we are talking real comfort food made easy!
Amanda’s deliciously sweet and gooey caramel apple crumble couldn’t be any easier to make. Two basic steps and you can set your slow cooker on Low or High and walk out your door to whatever adventure awaits you. When you come back in 2-4 hours, the delicious aroma of sweet caramel apples will greet you at the door.
But wait – you can’t eat it just yet! The good part about this recipe is that automatically makes its own luscious caramel sauce that will rock your world. The bad part is that after that caramel sauce develops, it needs to sit for an hour to thicken. That no problem, however, just relax and eat a leisurely dinner while you wait. When you are ready for dessert, this dessert will be ready for you.

Quick Tip: Save yourself some time and effort and invest in an apple corer/slicer. You can usually find these at dollar stores. In one swift downward motion, you core the apple and cut it into six or eight segments, which you can then easily peel and cut into chunks.
