All of us neighborhood kids would line up on my grandmother’s sidewalk, clutching our money in dirty, sweaty palms. We jostled and giggled in hysterical anticipation. When the nose of his square refrigerated box rounded the corner, we would cheer! Slowly he pedaled his way up to us, gliding to a stop right at the exact front of the line.
I had several favorites. Drumstick cones, because I liked the nuts and chocolate coating the ice cream. Fudgsicles, because of their creamy-smooth, chocolate-milk taste. But on really hot days, I always ordered a Creamsicle, orange sherbet wrapped around a bar of vanilla ice cream, and, no doubt, the inspiration for this pie.
INGREDIENTS
1½ cups heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons Dixie Crystals Confectioners Powdered Sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ cup water
1 (3-oz.) package orange Jello mix
2 (6-oz) containers orange-flavored yogurt
1 9-inch graham cracker crust
INSTRUCTIONS
Pour heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract into a large bowl.
Whisk using a large balloon whisk for approximately 5 minutes, until cream reaches stiff peaks. Set aside.
Place water in a large microwave safe bowl. Heat for 1 minute, or until it’s just beginning to boil. Immediately whisk in orange Jello mix, stirring until dissolved.
Stir in orange yogurt. Fold in whipped cream until well mixed. Pour into graham cracker pie crust.
Refrigerate for 1 hour, or until set. Top with additional whipped cream and orange sprinkles for serving, if desired.

Quick Tip: Don’t limit yourself to just orange flavored gelatin mix. Any of the citrus flavors would be tasty, as would apricot, black cherry, raspberry, strawberry, watermelon, cranberry and mango. If you cannot find a matching flavor of yogurt, vanilla would be a good substitute.
