Sweet, Soft, and Savory: These Are The Best Carrots I’ve Ever Tasted

  • thanksgiv carrots

If you want a Thanksgiving side dish that is prepared in minutes and tastes delicious, look no further than my grandmother’s Fresh Thyme Carrots! She used to always keep fresh herbs in her garden, and they really bring any dish to the next level of flavor.

The fresh thyme really complements the bright flavor of the carrots, and the added Dijon mustard provides a yummy tanginess to everything. I’ve never seen anyone else make this like my grandmother does, and I wouldn’t change a thing!

You should definitely give this recipe a try. Like I said before, it doesn’t take long to make at all!

Ingredients:

1-1/2 lb (680 g) carrots, peeled and sliced diagonally
2 tbsp (30 mL) maple syrup
1 tbsp (15 mL) Dijon mustard
1/4 tsp (1 mL) salt
1/4 tsp (1 mL) pepper
2 tbsp (30 mL) butter
1 tbsp (15 mL) chopped fresh thyme

Instructions:

In large saucepan, bring 3/4 cup (175 mL) water, carrots, maple syrup, mustard, salt and pepper to boil; cover and cook over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes or until almost tender.

Uncover and cook over high heat, stirring often, for 3 to 4 minutes or until tender and no liquid remains. Remove from heat; stir in butter and thyme.
