A New Way To Enjoy an Old Favorite
Ambrosia salad is such a classic dessert that it’s almost impossible to think that changing it would make it better. However, we have found a recipe that takes that typical ambrosia salad to the next level. How is that possible? By making it into a bar of course! A sweet graham cracker crust sits under this ambrosia salad, not only adding delicious flavor but also making it so much easier to eat! Goodbye messy salad!
The trick to making these bars is keeping the fruit out of the mix until the end. The whipped cream, marshmallows and shredded coconut are all mixed together and the orange slices, pineapple and cherries are then added on top. Since the fruit isn’t mixed into the whipped cream, it will slice nicely once the salad has set in the fridge. Adding the fruit at the end also enables you to place the fruit decoratively on top of the bars- make them nice and pretty and everyone will be so impressed!
Next time you have a family gathering or holiday, definitely try to make these ambrosia salad bars. A classic dessert (or can we pretend it is a salad?!?) has just gotten even better!
