Mushrooms, Herbs, and Butter Come Together in This Quick and Easy Recipe

Sometimes it is just too hot to let a pot simmer on the stove for hours at a time. If you live in an area where summer just lingers on into fall, you know what I’m talking about. That’s why my favorite kitchen gadget is the slow cooker, which does a great job of slowly simmering this delicious mushroom recipe without heating up my kitchen. This recipe makes the perfect buttery, herby mushrooms that are great for either an appetizer or a side dish – all while keeping the heat to a minimum. And the cleanup is a breeze as well – just wash the slow cooker and you’re done! What I love about this recipe is the fact that there is almost no prep work at all. Dump it all into the cooker and forget about it. A quick stir in the middle is all you need to do to make this amazing dish.

Mushrooms are often a love it or hate it food, but I swear that your guests will adore this dish. The buttery sauce that coats the mushrooms with herbs and flavor transforms this humble ingredient into something amazing. Big thanks go to the chef at Damn Delicious for turning me on to the perfect way to make mushrooms.

Quick tip: If you want to kick this recipe up a notch, stir in a little bit of cornstarch (mixed with water) for a thicker, creamier sauce during the last 15 minutes.
