Fool-Proof, Fail-Proof – 4 Ingredients & No Special Equipment

Salty, Gooey, Chocolatey and Crunchy – That Covers It All!

As soon as I saw these beautiful, rich-looking treats, I knew that Lauren had created something special. Don’t you get tired of making the same old treats, over and over again? I certainly do! Every now and then, I like to learn a new technique, try a new flavor combination or check out exotic ingredients. It keeps me sane, especially around the stress of the holidays, when everyone and everything seems to be moving at warp speed.

These, I would take my time with. Not to say that they can’t be done quickly, because they most certainly can. I would use the process of creating these as a Zen-like meditative opportunity, to place each pretzel just so, to artistically drizzle the caramel and chocolate. I would take lots of pictures, so that I could savor it again, after the fact.

I would get up early and make a pot of tea and read over the directions. Then I would set out all of my supplies in the proper order. I would give loving care to each step along the way, not caring if it took me all day to finish one small batch. Their perfection would be my own private pleasure.

Quick Tip:  Make sure that you use actual caramel candies that you melt to make the caramel drizzle for these. Caramel sauce that you might make or buy in a store are too soft and runny to harden up properly after it is applied.
