I recently came across one of my favorite holiday recipes I used to make with my mom all the time as a kid. These Christmas Cereal Wreaths are a light treat that are especially fun to make and eat during holiday parties.
You can set up kid’s table with different types of sprinkles and let them shape their wreaths. Then, they can decorate them however they want! Your kids might be in a sugar coma afterwards, but that’s what fun on the holidays is all about anyways!
This is one of my favorite recipes from an old cook book that has been sitting on my shelf for as long as I can remember.
Ingredients:
Cornflakes – 2 cup
Marshmallows – 2 cup
Unsalted Butter – 4 tblspn
Vanilla Essence – 1/2 tsp
Almond Essence – 1/4 tsp
Sprinkles as needed
Instructions:
Take cornflakes in a bowl and crush it with your fingers. Line a tray with parchment paper and set aside.
Take butter in a sauce pan. Heat it so it is melted.
Add in marshmallows and heat till it is melted.
Add in the essence and mix well.
Now add in crushed cornflakes and mix well.
Remove this into a bowl and add in the sprinkles and mix well.
Wet your hands, take a portion of the mix and shape it into ball.
Place it over the parchment lined tray and flatten it slightly, shape it into wreath shape.
Allow it to set for a hour or so.
Enjoy.

Quick Tip: Vanilla and Almond essence is the same as extract from your grocery store!
