Don’t Be A Muggle – Drink Your Polyjuice Potion!

  • polyjuice potion punch

2 Ingredients (Okay, Maybe 3) and 5 Minutes – Seriously!

If you have been anywhere on planet Earth during the course of the last 20 years, you likely have heard of Harry Potter, read one of the series of Harry Potter books written by J. K. Rowling, or watched one of the wildly popular spin-off movies. If you have somehow managed to avoid knowing anything about the Harry Potter craze, please allow me to invite you out from under that rock where you’ve been hiding, into the bright light of day!

Polyjuice Potion, one of the many foodstuffs and libations made famous in this series, allowed the person who consumed it to become another person for a short period of time, anywhere from 10 minutes to 12 hours. In the books, it was described as being quite complex to make (requiring 7 ingredients, including an actual bit of the person you wished to impersonate!) and requiring a full month to stew to reach full potency.

This benign version (the non-alcoholic version, anyway) in this recipe created by Sherri, Tracy and Debbie requires only two ingredients (three, if you wish to have a more colorful potion) and can be ready in about 5 minutes. The bright green that results from the addition of neon green food coloring will make a startling contrast with the omnipresent orange of the season.

Quick Tip:  Want to make this fun punch into an alcoholic version for an adult Halloween party? Simple, just add vodka, to taste.
