As far back as I can remember I’ve been one of the unusual people who actually considers winter to be my favorite season. When everyone else is complaining about the cold and snow I’m secretly overjoyed that the bone chilling weather outside means it’s perfectly acceptable for me to spend a weekend curled up on my couch with a good book and a roaring fire.
Plus, how can you not love the look of snow falling peacefully outside? It’s so magical—like being in your own personal snowglobe! My husband doesn’t agree with me on the unparalleled superiority of winter as the best season out there, but there is one part of my cold weather addiction he can get on board with: hot chocolate.
We both consider ourselves conniseurs of this delicious beverage and have spent many a cozy Saturday sipping on a new mix we’ve picked up to try. Many local coffee shops sell their own in a wide range of flavors, so there’s always a different one to try.
However, one day while enjoying a cup my husband turned to me and said, ”You know what we haven’t tried? Our own hot chocolate.”
Yeah, we had to change that.

Quick tip: To make peppermint hot chocolate mix add in a ¼ to ½ teaspoon peppermine extract to the mix ingredients before processing together.
