I’ve always struggled with eating in the morning. I don’t know why but my body just is not hungry before 10 or 11 AM. I remember being a kid and just dreading my parents telling me every morning how “breakfast is the most important meal of the day!” And now that seems to have passed on to my own daughter. For some reason sweet things especially have never appealed to me in the morning. A bowl of sugary cereal is most kids dream breakfast but I remember forcing myself just to eat a few bites before begging my parents to let me stop. Muffins and other pastries aren’t much better either.
But I did find that—while not something I’m head over heels for right when I get up—that more savory foods like eggs were much more palatable to me. Not that I’d choose them over nothing.
