Gooey Sticky Pull-Apart Bread

I first had monkey bread at a baby shower many years ago. I fell in love with this delicious soft sugary dough. It is so simple to make and there is no need to tweak or adapt it in any way. This recipe is perfect.

This is one of those recipes I love making with my children. It’s fun to put them in charge of breaking off the small pieces of dough and rolling them in the cinnamon and sugar. My girls love dropping it into the bundt pan and their giggles are just as sweet as the breakfast treat we are making.

Monkey bread makes for a fun warm breakfast, perfect with a cup of coffee. It also works well as a dessert, though I’d recommend decaf coffee to accompany it. It’s a simple way to get the kids in the kitchen helping when there is a potluck or family dinner to attend and you’ve been put in charge of bringing something sweet. The pride on their face as they carry in this dessert is precious.

It’s a wonderful memory we’ve created sitting around the table pulling off small chunks of sweet biscuits talking about the day ahead. I love starting the day with the kids already feeling proud of their accomplishments.

Quick tip: If you are running short on time simplify this recipe by using pillsbury biscuits from a can.
