The Perfect Fall Dessert Has Arrived!
One of my favorite memories from childhood is going apple picking with my family each fall. We would drive out to an orchard, pick bushels of apples and then go home where my mom would turn the apples into a wide variety of treats. Applesauce, apple pie, apple pancakes…you name it and she made it! However, there is nothing quite like a fresh, sugary apple crisp. Warm apples, a crunchy topping all surrounded by a sweet aroma that no one can resist. This is what fall is all about!
Regular apple crisp can be tricky to eat as in it requires a plate and fork (I know, I know, that’s not really hard…). But what if apple crisp could be made into something that is portable and easy to carry around as you indulge? What if, there was an apple crisp pizza! Well guess what- there is!!
This recipe for apple crisp pizza features a flakey pie crust, rolled out like a pizza dough and then topped with cinnamon sugar apples and an oat crisp topping. The apple pizza is baked in the oven for 40 minutes and then drizzled in caramel sauce (as if this couldn’t get any better, caramel just sets this dessert over the top!). Cut the crisp into pizza slices and serve! The apple crisp pizza is a new fall must have and I will surely be making several of these with fresh picked apples!

Quick tip: Dice the apples small so that the pizza is easy to cut after it bakes.
