A Heart Stopping Potato Casserole That Can Bake In The Oven

I don’t know about you, but I am no expert chef. One of my favorite dishes is cheesy potatoes au gratin. Unfortunately, you have to make a special cream sauce to make that dish, and I stink at that part! My liquid always separates, and the cheese never melts quite right.

I don’t know how other cooks do it at home! I came across this recipe for Gooey Potato Casserole, and I will never both with fancy potatoes au gratin ever again – haha! Literally, all I have to do is use a microwave to melt a few ingredients together.

Then, I pour the mixture in with potatoes and bacon, and I bake it! How easy is that? Although the recipe calls for hash browns, you can use fresh potatoes too. You can slice potatoes with a mandolin, and you can shred them or you can slice them thin.

You can even just chop fresh potatoes into little chunks! They all bake the same. You can even pick your favorite cheese to go with the potatoes and bacon. I usually choose mild cheddar, but you can use mozzarella, pepper jack, swiss cheese, or a combination of your favorites! Sometimes we even eat it for breakfast at my house.
