This, You Just Gotta Taste to Believe!
Are you looking for a rich, decadent and impressive chocolate dessert for company? This could be the one! It elevates humble bread pudding to an entirely different level. The best part? Even though it looks impressive, it isn’t really hard to make. Your family will love this too, and it might be a good substitute for those special occasion cakes.
If you are trying to cut back on calories and fat intake, you can omit tossing the bread cubes in the butter. Instead, just toss them in the sugar/cocoa powder mixture and sprinkle any that doesn’t stick to the bread evenly over the top of the bread once you put it in your baking dish. You can also substitute evaporated skim milk or whole milk for the cream, and the result will still be rich and taste sensational.
If you don’t feel like subjecting yourself to the candy aisle of your local market to track down the chocolate kisses, just substitute 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate morsels. The point here is to load this dish up with chocolate, it doesn’t really matter which variety you use. For a tasty variation, if that much chocolate seems overwhelming to you, try using butterscotch or peanut butter chips. Still amazing, but different.

Quick Tip: You can make this a day ahead of when you plan to serve it. Just do not put the topping on until after you bake it, per the recipe directions. Keep it refrigerated and let it warm to room temperature for about 30 minutes before baking.
