This recipe does call for peanut oil for frying, but you can also use vegetable oil if you need to avoid peanuts for allergies. Otherwise, these make a great treat for a unique birthday celebration when you’re tired of cake, and you can easily send them to school or serve at a party. You do have to fry in batches and be sure that you let the oil get hot in between every single batch, or you’ll end up with soggy donuts at the end. This fantastic recipe by Kitchen Fun with My 3 Sons is definitely worth a try!
Ingredients
1 ten count can Grand’s biscuits (or your preference)
1 Cup Sugar
1½ Tablespoon cinnamon
Peanut (or Vegetable) Oil for Frying
Instructions
Mix your cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl and set aside. Use a small round cookie cutter to cut holes in the center of your biscuit dough.
Pour your oil in a skillet. You need a little less than a half inch. Heat your oil on medium to medium high for several minutes.
Fry the donuts in batches. It should only take about 1 minute on each side before you turn them over. Place them on paper towels. Dip both sides in the cinnamon sugar mixture and enjoy. If the cinnamon sugar doesn’t stick as well, try dipping the donut in melted butter first.

Quick tip: Be sure that the oil is hot enough to instantly sear the donuts when added. This prevents them from getting soggy.
