One Fall Fruit You’ll Be Giving Thanks For
Let’s face it, not all of us were cut out to be bakers, let alone bakers of fantastic pies. But that can actually be a good thing, now that you will have Lyuba’s recipe for this unusual hybrid dessert, which is a cross between the simple goodness of warm apple pie and the comforting nature of bread pudding, in your dessert arsenal.
Imagine serving this Apple Pie Bread Pudding, warm from the oven, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to your family and friends gathered around your Thanksgiving table this year. All thoughts of wanting pumpkin pie are going to be forgotten as they eagerly dive into this substantial dessert.
Now think about having the leftovers for breakfast the next morning. Dessert for breakfast – how decadent is that? Just cut a slice and warm it in the microwave to take the chill off. Just for decency’s sake, you might want to leave off the ice cream, after all, it IS breakfast. How about a big glass of milk, instead?
Just in case you were wondering, this dish could be made in a crock pot/slow cooker just as easily. Cook it for one hour on high, and then turn to low for the next 2-3 hours, or until you can easily pierce the apples with a fork.

Quick Tip: Don’t be afraid to try other breads, such as a brioche, in this recipe. Due to variations in density, you may need to use a bit more bread.
