One Appetizer That Will Disappear In A Heartbeat!

These Are The Bomb!

I must have been living under a rock or in a cave for the past few years, because I had never heard of these clever little “bomb”-type appetizers. Apparently there is one made with pepperoni, resembling a pizza in flavor, that has been all the rage.

These in this recipe are even tastier than those, from what I’m told. But I confess that I have never tried the pepperoni variety. I just know that these are might tasty and satisfying. You could even make a light lunch of a few.

Are you awake? Can you lay a hand down flat on a surface? Can you hold a spoon? Then you can easily make these little meatball bombs quickly and with ease. In fact, the hardest part of this whole recipe might very well be opening that blasted can of biscuits!

The recipe calls for buttermilk-style biscuits. I think I will experiment with different varieties. I have the flaky ones in mind, and I might even try a croissant. I can only imagine such flaky goodness wrapped around a meatball, sauce and cheese!

Then I might go really wild and substitute the meat used in the meatballs themselves. Chicken, turkey, and sweet or spicy Italian sausage would each be tasty. Don’t even get me started on the cheese possibilities!

Quick Tip:  These could leak a little and stick to the pan, so use a silicone mat or parchment paper to line your baking sheet.

They are awesome… I used various meats, cheeses, even sauce… one of my personal favorites was chopped chicken with a white cream cause and Parmesan cheese, almost like an Alfredo sauce As for the dough “biscuit” Puff Pastry dough (usually found in the freezer section next to frozen pie crust) was the biggest hit around my place. seemed everyone thought of them as perfect pizza/pie crust… not to heavy, flaky, yet didn’t crumble away while trying to eat..I used them the first time with a hamburger (taco) flavor filling and what a hit… Each package of Puff Pastry dough will 9 or 18 pocket sandwiches…I unfolded the dough… and cut into 9 squares (you’ll notice that when unfolded the sheet of dough is folded in thirds so by cutting along each fold and then cutting across in third you have a total 9 squares.. I had big eaters that day so I choose to not to just fold each square in half after placing filling. Filling: 1 Tbs. Taco seasoned ground beef, 1 tsp. chopped green onion, and 1 Tbs. finely shredded “Mexican” four cheese blend (by Kraft) place covered with another square of dough crimped with fork to seal edges and baked in 350 degree preheated oven until golden brown… approximate 15 to 20 min. if I recall correctly.
