Feed Your Family or a Crowd with an Easy Slow Cooker Baked Potato
Lately I’ve been in a slow cooker phase, and for good reason: the heat! With summer winding down, the last little bits of heat have been making it impossible for me to want to stand over a hot stove all night making dinner. Of course, my family needs to eat, so I have to suck it up sometimes – but I’m always on the hunt for ways to put my slow cooker to use to avoid the heat in the kitchen. I never thought I would see a baked potato in a slow cooker, but here we are! The chef at Well Plated has figured it out, and it’s one of my favorite ways to make a versatile side dish.
Baked potatoes are perfect for just about everything. Whether you want a quick and easy side for a steak, a main receptacle for chili and cheese, or a healthier lunch option, you can turn a baked potato into your new best friend. Add in the convenience of cooking them in a slow cooker for a crowd, or to prep multiple lunches at once, and you’ve struck gold. This recipe is a great thing to have in your weekly dinner rotation and in your lunch box ideas as well.

Quick tip: If you use different types of potatoes, be sure to watch the cooking time. The size and type of potato will change how long they need to cook for.
