Spicy, Creamy And All Wrapped Up For A Night On The Town

I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for good appetizers for various types of themed events, such as Halloween parties. I like to surprise and delight my guests with an array of unusual items that they won’t be experiencing at every other party they attend that season. These jalapeno popper mummies Ashley created are perfect!

Jalapenos are one of the milder hot peppers, compared to a pepper like a Scotch Bonnet, which can sear off the roof of your mouth if you just look at it out of the corner of your eye. These spicy little jalapeno peppers are filled with cooling cream cheese and then wrapped in flaky crescent rolls. So not only do you get a lot of flavor in these small packages, but you also get a lot of interesting textures.

If you wanted to get a jump on your Halloween party preparations, you could make these several days in advance. Clean and stuff the peppers, but don’t wrap them in the crescent rolls. Just keep them in an airtight container, a Ziploc bag or wrapped in plastic wrap in your refrigerator.

Then, on the day of your party take them out of the fridge, and let them come to room temperature while you pre-heat the oven and prepare the crescent rolls. Create your mummies and bake.

Quick Tip:  Wear rubber gloves when working with hot peppers and make sure that you wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after your finish. Oils from hot peppers can cause burns and extreme pain if they get into your eyes or on other sensitive body parts.
