Lima Beans Just Got The Ultimate Makeover!
Move over, boring lima beans! My Tender Baby Lima Beans side dish recipe is turning heads and making stomach growl!
I was recently cooking dinner for my family, and I needed a side dish to serve next to our main course. When I opened my cupboard, I couldn’t find much in there, but I did find a bag of lima beans that I hadn’t used yet.
I did a quick search online for an interesting lima bean recipe, and I found one on a popular recipe website that I used as my inspiration. While most recipes for any kid of bean calls for melted butter, I chose to replace that ingredient with extra virgin olive oil (also known as EVOO in the culinary world).
Olive oil is so good for your body – did you know that a teaspoon of olive oil actually helps fight bad cholesterol in the body? This is why I chose olive oil to replace the butter, and it never diminished the taste of the lima beans.
I also found that grinding freshly cracked black pepper over the beans really brightens the flavor and makes them interesting to eat. I’ll never just boil my lima beans again, and you’re going to want to try this recipe for yourself too.

Quick Tip: You can omit the bay leaves from the recipe if you don’t like any heat.
