Fun Size Candy Bars Finally Have A Purpose!
Back when I was a kid going out trick-or-treating on Halloween was an entirely different affair than it is these days. Of course, those were far more innocent, less dangerous times. First of all, it was held at night. That’s right, after it was completely and utterly dark.
Parents? They stayed indoors handing out candy. Young children, those that couldn’t mount a good, speedy run from the goblins and ghosts lurking on that spooky night, were not allowed to participate. You had to age your way into the privilege. The older children would give them any unwanted candy when they returned with bags bulging with loot.
We stayed out until every house had been fully explored, sometimes more than once. Nor did we stay just in the neighborhoods where we lived. The entire small town I lived in was fair game.
If a neighbor or relative had been particularly obnoxious during the year, like not returning your ball when it sailed over their fence, or yelling at you to get out of the street, they fully expected to have tricks played upon them on this night, anything from tossing toilet paper into their trees and shrubs to soaping all of their house and car windows. Nothing too malicious, just aggravating to deal with the next day.

Quick Tip: You can make this dip ahead of time. Just keep it refrigerated until about 30 minutes before you wish to serve it. Do not add the chopped Butterfingers to the top until right before you serve it.
