Guests Will Rave About This Cake Every Time You Make It

I recently found out my youngest sister is expecting her first baby, and I am beyond excited! I have four little ones of my own already and our middle sister has two. To say we’re excited to have her join the motherhood club would be a huge understatement—we’re both so ready to spoil or little niece or nephew. And I may or may not have already been eyeing up the latest baby clothes in store to prepare for when he or she comes…

To celebrate the exciting news and share it with our extended family my parents had everyone over for a family dinner. And in our family we take our family dinners seriously. There’s usually more food than we can all eat courtesy of my talented mom and sisters. And my grandmother knows how to make more fabulous desserts than I can count.

My sister is a huge chocaholic, so I knew that chocolate desserts would be a star of the menu. And sure enough when I arrived at my parents help with my own dishes to pass I could see the dessert table was loaded down with all her favorite chocolate treats.

The one I was most looking forward to? This cake.

Quick tip: If you don’t have sweet and condensed milk make a ganache for the top of the cake instead. Bring ¾ cup of heavy cream to a boil then pour over 1 ½ cups of chocolate chips. Stir until melted then pour over cake.
