Are These The Same Apples Snow White Ate?
Aren’t these just the most gorgeously sinister and scary-looking “poison” apples? This amazing recipe comes from Alida, and it is sure to catch the attention of every guest at your Halloween party. Create a centerpiece that will WOW your guests by arranging a group of these glossy black beauties on a mirror or shiny silver tray in the middle of your table.
I have great memories of toffee apples from my childhood. I even lost a loose tooth in one! Alida has her own memories, as she says, “As a child, eating a toffee apple was the ultimate delight. I never felt guilty because well, it’s an apple!” Exactly, my friend! So we have to think that the good cancels out the bad and therefore you should be able to eat your fill of these glossy gems.
You would be surprised at just how easy they are to create, as well. The main thing to watch out for is apples that have wax on them, as they will not accept the candy coating. See the Quick Tip for instructions on how to remove the wax coating from your apples. Unless you bought them from a local fruit stand, it is a safe bet that they have been waxed for storage and shipment.
USE THE RED NEXT PAGE LINK BELOW FOR THE RECIPE AND INSTRUCTIONS.
Quick Tip: If the apples you buy have been waxed, the candy coating will not stick to them. To remove the wax, take very hot water and add a bit of lemon juice and baking soda to it, to help break down the wax faster. Leave the apples in this very sot solution for about a minute, then scrub the apple with a dry, rough towel.
