Bored Of Sloppy Joes? These Sliders Will Drive You Wild!

  • dr pepper sliders

If you’re tired of making sloppy joes, I highly suggest you try this slow cooker recipe for Saucy Soda Sliders. Yes, that’s right, I said “soda!” Pour a little Dr. Pepper into the sauce mix, and you have sliders that are extra sweet, a little crisp on the tongue, and it has just a hint of that Dr. Pepper taste.

Even better, you can serve the pulled pork on Hawaiian Rolls. They’re perfect for soaking up that yummy sauce! I love all the seasonings that go on the pork tenderloin too. It tastes very peppery to balance out the sweetness of the sauce and onions. Your house is going to smell incredible when you turn on the slow cooker!

Ingredients:

1 large sweet onion (thinly sliced)

½ cup brown sugar

1 tbsp salt

1 tbsp paprika

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp cumin

1 tsp oregano

1 tbsp cayenne pepper

½ tbsp black pepper

1 tsp thyme

1 tsp red pepper flakes

2.5 lb pork tenderloin

½ cup apple cider vinegar

12 fl oz Dr Pepper

6 oz tomato paste

24 Hawaiian Rolls

Instructions:

Place the thinly sliced onion into the bottom of a slow cooker.

In a small bowl combine the next 10 ingredients.

Rub the spice mixture over the pork, place in the slow cooker on top of the sliced onions.

In a small bowl, whisk the apple cider vinegar, Dr Pepper and tomato paste together, pour over the pork.

Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours.

Using two forks, pull the pork apart inside the slow cooker.

Toast the Hawaiian rolls, if you would like, before serving.

Use tongs to place the Dr Pepper Pulled Pork on the Hawaiian rolls

Quick Tip: Make sure your Dr. Pepper isn’t flat – the carbonation improves the flavor.
