Sometimes you find your favorite dishes through some unexpected circumstances. That’s what happened to me when i was searching for bacon recipes and found these bacon wrapped meatballs!
Growing up sports was never a big deal for my family. Sure every now and then on a particularly uneventful weekend my dad would turn on football or baseball or whatever sports was happening at that time. But within minutes he would start yawning and then drop off to sleep while one of us kids would sneak the remote away and turn on cartoons.
So it came as a huge shock to me that after I went off to college and starting attending sporting events with my friends (they were huge football fans) that I fell in love with the sport, too. Soon enough my halfhearted attempts at cheering to fit in turned into full on hoots and hollers of excitement as our team scored.
Not surprisingly then I fell for an equally sports enthused boy in my sophomore year biology class. And now we just celebrated out third year of marriage. Sports are now a huge part of our relationship and out time spent with his equally sports crazy family.
That was how I ended up getting my first taste of this delicious game day snack. These bacon wrapped meatballs now has a permanent spot on my party food rotation.

Quick tip: If you don’t have pork sausage you can use two pounds ground beef but the flavor won’t be quite the same.
