These Appetizers Are Dangerously Addictive!

  • bacon wrapped dates

One thing that this recipe is perfect for is working with someone else. If you’re preparing for a get together, get your spouse, roomie, best friend, or even your kids involved. As you work together getting the appetizers made, it’s fun to chat and have some fun. I love recipes that allow you to create that communal feeling in the kitchen. And the ingredients in this one are easy to find at any major grocery chain, so you never have to search for something out of the ordinary to create a fancy appetizer! Thanks again to Susannah’s Kitchen for sharing this recipe with us just in time for the holidays.

Ingredients

½ cup goat cheese

¼ cup cream cheese

20 whole dried dates,

split and pitted

7 slices of bacon, cut into thirds

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400° F. Combine cheeses until blended. Open each date and stuff with one full teaspoon of the cheese mixture. Pinch the dates closed and wrap each date with 1/3 slice of bacon. Secure with a toothpick if needed.

Arrange the stuffed dates seam side down, on foil-wrapped baking sheet or broiler pan. Bake the dates on one side for 10 minutes. Flip the dates over with cooking tongs or a fork. Cook dates for another 5-8 minutes or until the bacon is crispy. Transfer dates to a paper towel, and drain for 5 minutes. Serve warm.

Quick tip: Try substituting gorgonzola cheese for the cheese blend for a different flavor!
