Candied Bacon and Creamy Cheese Accent Tasty Dates in This Appetizer
Is there anything more delicious than bacon? I can’t name a thing that isn’t improved by this tasty ingredient – even bacon and chocolate is a tasty combination. This appetizer combines the delicious savory flavor of bacon along with the sweet, caramel-like flavor of dates, and the creamy richness of cream cheese and goat cheese. Together, these ingredients create a very elegant little bite, perfect for serving up at a holiday party or adult birthday. They’re also great for game day!
It took me a few tries to figure out how to get everything to stay together as I put the toothpicks in. The key is just practice. Once you get into the groove, these do come together very quickly. And I love that it only takes one cooking process to create this appetizer – no cooking bacon separately or anything like that. You simply wrap up the cheese mix with a date and some bacon, and pop it into the oven. By the time they are done, you have something that is crunchy, melty, sweet, savory, and simply delicious. I can’t wait to serve this up to some guests! Big thanks to Susannah at Susannah’s Kitchen for sharing this tasty little appetizer.
