What Happens When Cranberry Sauce and Ambrosia Salad Have a Love Affair? This
While I do love ambrosia salad, it can get to be a little….expected. Almost every holiday, my aunt makes her ‘famous’ ambrosia salad and of course everyone gobbles it up (because when you get to eat dessert for dinner, who can resist). But every once and a while, it’s time to switch things up. That is when this recipe will make its debut at your holiday table!
Of course the typical ambrosia ingredients can’t be left out. Marshmallows, pineapple and coconut are all still accounted for in this recipe. However, cranberries are making a huge difference that you will notice immediately by the pink color of this dish and also when you take your first bite. The tartness of the cranberries is a perfect complement to the usually sweet, sweet salad. The crunchy pecans are another nice touch to this recipe.
Ambrosia salad and cranberry sauce have been sitting at the Thanksgiving table for years now so it is about time that they got mixed together. I guarantee that this salad will be a huge hit as who can resist a pink salad! No one will ever remember my aunt’s famous ambrosia now!
