What’s Twisty-Turny, Soft and Sweet?
Alicia has really outdone herself with this recipe for chewy, soft, buttery, cinnamon-sweet soft pretzels! Need an amazingly delicious treat your whole family will love? Look no further, this is it! Not only are they to-die-for yummy, they are incredibly easy and quick to make.
That last bit is a good thing, because I have never been any good, at all, at making yeast breads. The only way I have managed even a little success has been by using my bread-making machine, but I’m not altogether satisfied with those results, either. There is something about all of that rising and kneading-of-dough that seems to elude me, every time. I wish I could feel like Alicia, when she says, “I love coming back to a big plump mound of dough. I make a ton of bread, and it still feels like magic every single time!”
Nevertheless, I am determined to try my hand at these, and get them done right. I am envisioning being able to dazzle the neighborhood kids, as I hand these out as after-school treats. I am also certain I would stun my brunch-book-club gal pals into reverent silence with my new-found baking prowess if I could set out a tray of these beauties with our coffee and tea.

Quick Tip: I’ll bet these would be divine brushed with melted butter and sprinkled with sea salt and herbs, too. Or how about drizzles of caramel and dark chocolate, together with a sprinkle of sea salt?
