Kids Won’t Eat Their Peas? Make This Pasta And They’ll Eat It Right Up!
Creamy Carbonara Pasta is one of my favorite pasta dishes ever, and I love this version of the recipe. What’s listed below is enough to feed 2-3 kids, or it can feed up to 2 adults.
Actually, when I make it, I make it all for myself! You can easily double this recipe to have enough to fill everyone’s tummies. If your kids don’t like peas, the creamy sauce here will make them taste so good, that they’ll gobble them right up!
Typically, carbonara pasta is made with bacon, but I like to use ham. Ham has a brighter flavor, and it’s slightly less salty and greasy. Bacon grease can ruin your cream sauce, and nobody wants that!
I also like to use farfalle pasta (these are the bow tie noodles you see so often in stores), but you can use any pasta that you like. I suggest choosing something that will pick up the peas and ham with your fork. Penne pasta or those tri-colored curly noodles would work really well.
Also, if you’re wondering, “petit pois” is just a fancy name for peas. A bag of frozen peas from your grocery store will work perfectly well here!

Quick Tip: You can replace the ham with bacon, if you’d prefer.
