You Can’t Always Get What You Want, Or Can You?
Okay, so the doctors are giving you grief about your weight, your diet, and your bloodwork results. Your entire health picture is NOT looking all that great in their learned opinion. BUT. YOU. JUST. WANT. A. COOKIE! Thank you, Lilly, for coming to our rescue with this stupendous, chocolatey recipe!
You will be amazed that something so insanely simple and improbable would have such a satisfying taste. I mean, there’s no sugar or flour anywhere in these cookies! Only healthy fruit, a grain that has no gluten but does have protein and intense chocolate flavor.
Every doctor on the planet should be sharing this recipe with their patients! As Lilly herself says, “They definitely hit the spot when I’m craving something sweet!”
Unless I had seen it happen with my own two eyes, I wouldn’t have believed that these three ingredients could actually cling together long enough to be a cookie that I could bake and then hold in my hands and eat. I guess that it is one of the magical properties of oats: not only are they heart healthy, but they also can be a binding agent in recipes. Learning something new every day of our lives is a very good thing!

Quick Tip: If you don’t want to use cacao powder, you can use ordinary unsweetened cocoa powder. You can also make these like a more traditional oatmeal cookie by leaving out the chocolate powder (of whatever type you chose), making this a very versatile recipe more. If you do make the plain oatmeal variety, add some cinnamon, a bit of nutmeg (or use apple pie spice or pumpkin pie spice blends, You can also add in raisins, dried cranberries, white or dark chocolate chips, butterscotch or peanut butter chips, any type of nuts you like, etc. Create whatever combination you like best – they are all good!

Where is the recipe?
Hi Nora, the red Next Page button will take you to the ingredients and instructions. 🙂
Have an allergy to bananas, is there a substitute for bananas??
SO nice to add that you must look for gluten free oats to make it gluten free, so many people don’t understand cross contamination. Thank you
