Come And Get It! – My Favorite Year-Round Stew Recipe

Have you ever had lentils before? After discovering lentils, I’ve drastically cut down on the amount of pasta or noodles I put into soups and stews.

Lentils are very high in protein and fiber, and they hold onto flavors extremely well. If you like any type of southern cooking (think like gumbo and jambalaya), then you’ll want to add a bag of lentils to you kitchen cabinet as a staple.

I love this recipe for my Cozy Lentil Stew. Not only is it filled with ingredients that are good for you, but it has just the right type of flavor to make you crave it during the whole year. Obviously, being a stew, you’ll want to eat it on cold days or whenever you’re feeling sick, but it’s an easy recipe to make during warmer months too.

Sometimes, I like to cook it on late spring evenings. I’ll set up my patio with some candles and music, and I’ll sit out with my hubby and a bowl of this Cozy Lentil Stew and talk all night.

It has two types of meat in it too: bacon and salami. If you don’t like salami, you can always try it with pepperoni or ham.

Quick Tip: For more protein, replace the couscous with quinoa!
