Make Enough Of These Treats To Feed A Crowd—They Go Fast

Once a month my sister and I get together to catch up on life without our husbands or kids. It’s usually dinner at our favorite restaurant, the latest movie we’re both dying to see, or on a nice warm night might just be a long walk. It’s the perfect time for us to reconnect as sisters and relive childhood memories.

Our most recent get together broke the mold just a little bit in that my sister had me over to her house. Her husband was out of town on a work trip and her kids were spending the night with friends. So I came over with a bottle of wine and a stack of movies to choose from.

We feasted on our favorite food—enchiladas stuffed with cheese and peppers—as we got caught up on what had happened in the month since we’d last saw each other. Then just as I was scraping my plate clean she announced that she had something new to try for dessert. And never one to turn down a sweet treat, I was immediately up for it.

She dragged me to the kitchen to show me what she had planned, and I was instantly dying to try it.

Quick tip: To make these even easier use a can of ready-made apple pie filling—just roll up and fry away.
