Moist, Tangy, and Sweet: The Perfect Meatloaf Recipe

I know, you’ve probably come across more or less 8 million recipes for meatloaf on the internet. Hasn’t this been over done? No, no, my friend. Not yet!

I love my Quick Meat Loaf recipe for one big reason (actually, three): only 3 ingredients are needed to make the fantastic sauce that tops the loaf off. Ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar is all you need.

Obviously, ketchup is a main component here. If you see a meatloaf recipe that DOESN’T call for ketchup at any point, then you need to move on to the next one!

For mustard, I would suggest using a brown mustard, but this is where you can get a little creative. A spicy mustard would work very well too, if you like a little heat!

Finally, the brown sugar brings this sauce totally together. If you want the top of your meatloaf to get a little bit of a crust under the broiler, then add brown sugar!

It caramelizes perfectly without burning too quickly over overpowering the flavor. I always make a little extra sauce to dip my bites of meatloaf into, just because I like it that much. The entire recipe is simple, but it edges just outside of traditional meatloaf to make it a little unique!

Quick Tip: For the perfect portions, pack your meatloaf into a Bundt pan!
