Luckily, my friend was willing to share the recipe for this Coca-Cola Roast Beef, and I’ve been making it for my own family ever since. It gets nice and tender as it bakes away in your crock pot (win!) and the sauce that goes with it is to die for.
It’s a homemade barbecue sauce made with Coke that takes a good cut of meat to a whole new level of delicious. If you’ve never cooked with soda before give this recipe a try, and I promise you’ll be converted—and that this will be your new favorite dish.
Ingredients:
1 (2-3 pound) beef rump roast
1/2 cup Coca-Cola
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup molasses
2 cups ketchup
2 Tablespoons minced garlic
1 Tablespoon liquid smoke
1 teaspoon garlic salt
dash of red pepper flakes
Directions:
Spray slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
Place roast in slow cooker.
Mix remaining ingredients in a bowl and pour over roast in the slow cooker.
Cook on low for 8-9 hours or high for 5 hours.
When finished, slice roast and pour extra sauce on top.

Quick tip: Shred the beef instead of slicing it and serve on sandwich rolls for Coca-Cola shredded beef sandwiches.
