I will be the first to admit baking is not my forte—but these easy biscuit donuts turned out perfectly! If you don’t count the delicious glaze that they’re slathered in they’re literally one ingredient (yes, I said one!). All you need is a can of refrigerated biscuit dough and you’re on your way to delicious semi-homemade donuts.
When you pop this dough into the fryer it gets all wonderfully golden and puffy with just the right crackly crust on the outside. And once they’re dipped in the glaze they are like little bites of donut heaven. I’ve given these a permanent spot on our weekend breakfast rotation!
Ingredients
1 tin Biscuit dough , (used pillsbury grand home style buttermilk biscuit dough)
1 cup Sugar , powdered
2 tablespoons Honey
1/2 cup Luke Warm Water
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Vegetable Oil, enough for frying
Instructions
To begin making the Biscuit Dough Donuts recipe, heat oil in a big pan.
Remove biscuit dough from the pack. Lay them in a baking tray. Grab a cookie cutter or any cutter to cut a hole on the middle of each biscuit.
Carefully place 2 donuts at a time in hot oil. When one side is golden brown flip another side with a wooden spoon. It will take 2 -3 minutes to fry.
Transfer them to a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Fry all of them in same manner and don’t forget to fry donuts holes.
The next step is to glaze the donuts. In a bowl add sugar, vanilla extract, water and honey whisk nicely.
Dip each fried donuts and shake excess and put it in a wire rack to dry. Repeat the process again for thicker coating of glaze. Sprinkle sugar over the donuts and enjoy.
