This Is Our Go To Recipe For Parties And Potlucks—Everyone Loves It

My family is a family of food gifters. If you’re unfamiliar with that very technical terms, it basically means that my family’s favorite gift to give someone is food. We’ll volunteer to bake the cake for every birthday party (and go all out), bring a few plates full of cookies to Christmas dinner in lieu of more traditional gifts, and greet every new neighbor with a piping hot casserole.

It’s in our blood, and I don’t see it changing any time soon. We’re pretty adventurous cooks, so when it comes to sharing food within our family and close friends we like to try new dishes to see if they can join the list of “approved” recipes for sharing with new friends and acquaintances.

However, there are some recipes we have that were just approved from the beginning because they’re pretty much universally loved. This hearty pasta dish falls squarely into that category—I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t like the combination of pasta, tomato sauce and melty cheese.

This is my go-to recipe for nearly any occasion and was the first dish I cooked for my husband when we first started dating (I think it’s one of the reasons he decided to stick around!).

Quick tip: To make clean up a breeze line your pan with foil and spray with non-stick spray before baking.
