This Is The Perfect Side Dish For Any Occasion—We Guarantee It
In my family we take our lazy Sundays very seriously. We get dressed up to head to church then come home and instantly change back into our PJs or other equally comfy outfits. I make a big pot of coffee for my husband and I to enjoy and our two little girls curl up with a mug of hot chocolate. Then it’s movie time.
Sometime during the movie my mind starts to wander to what we’ll have for an early supper. It’s always something cozy and indulgent—a bit of a departure from what we usually eat during the week. Sometimes it’s something elaborate that I spend the afternoon preparing (I love to cook so still consider this lazy) and other times it’s something that takes hardly any effort at all.
In either case after a day full of vegging out and just enjoying our precious family time, it’s a meal we all sit down and eat together. No movies, no computer and no phones. Just the four of us enjoying a comforting dinner together.
For our most recent lazy Sunday I had a sudden craving for macaroni and cheese—but definitely didn’t feel like babysitting a from scratch roux cheese sauce on the stove.

Quick tip: Stir in your favorite protein of choice—shredded chicken, sliced Italian sausage, seasoned ground beef—to bulk this up and make it a more rounded meal.
