I Make This Meal Whenever I’m Feeling Sick And It Perks Me Right Up!

New Orleans food is some of the best in the world. It’s always a little spicy, always comforting, and usually comes out hot and steaming!

While Louisiana has countless wonderful restaurants, sometimes you just want stay in and enjoy the experience of cooking Southern comfort food at home. I am proud to bring you this New Orleans recipe to spice up your kitchen!

This week, I got a delicious twist on a Southern classic. There are so many ways to make shrimp and grits, but this recipe highlights the popular seafood dish in a way that is mimicked by one of the most popular restaurants in the state: Coquette.

Coquette serves some of the best cuisine that Louisiana has to offer. Give this copy cat recipe a try, and you’ll see what all the fuss is about! I know the ingredient list is a little long, but you’ll be amazed to see how the blend of flavors comes together to turn into a big melting pot of yumminess!

These shrimp and grits go together very well as a lunch. You don’t even need other things to eat with it! However, you could easily eat this as your dinner meal or, dare I say, breakfast.

Quick Tip: Cook the protein in advance, and make the gumbo portion in a crock pot for easier cooking.
