Your Guests’ Eyes Will Get Huge When They Bite Into These!
In my many, many (yes, really THAT many, I’m older than dirt!) years as an aficionado of all things Halloween, especially Halloween pranks, I have never seen one quite like this. It is stunning in its simplicity and so absolutely hilarious when you see the looks on the faces of your unsuspecting, hapless victims. But it’s all in good fun, so there’s no harm done.
Here’s how you pull it off. Make up a nice batch of these chocolatey-looking cupcakes, iced with vanilla frosting to look like mummies. Set them out with all of the other desserts on your Halloween buffet, and then get your camera ready and watch your guests so that you can capture candid photos of them taking a bite of these tasty morsels.
Oh yes, they really ARE tasty, and they really ARE food. They just aren’t the food that they look like they would be. Hidden in that innocent-looking cupcake liner is a “cupcake,” of sorts, but it is made of meatloaf, with a cherry tomato hidden in the middle. So not only are the guests biting into ground beef when they had their minds and the mouths set on eating chocolate, the food is actually going to squirt liquid into their mouths when they bite into it.

Quick Tip: Make sure that you buy cherry or grape tomatoes that are juicy enough to squirt liquid when their skin is pierced. Don’t buy those that feel too firm. Look for those that feel somewhat squishy when you gently squeeze them.
