These Are Like Cupcakes But Way More Fun!
My two children have birthdays that are very close together—April 28 and May 2—so much to their dismay when it comes to family birthday parties we usually just host one big shindig and call it good. Despite their best efforts I just don’t think they’ll ever convince my husband and me that two parties four days apart is a good idea.
However, we always make sure to do something special for each one of them either on their actual birthday or on a day as close to it as we can. Typically, they’re each allowed to ask a couple friends to come over and then pick the activity of their choice. My daughter almost always picks going to the movies and my son lately has been obsessed with mini golf.
And just like separate get togethers with their friends they also get to each pick out a birthday treat on their individual day (I’m a “mean mom”, though, and make them pick a cake together for the family party). My son keeps it pretty consistent with a brownie recipe every year, but my daughter like to switch it up.
And what she picked last year probably my favorite thing I’ve ever baked.

Quick tip: To switch up the flavor just swap in a different flavor of cake mix or frosting.
