Perfect For A Birthday Or Any Day Really These Are Our New Favorite Treats
My husband and I are polar opposites when it comes to dessert. I’ve never met one I haven’t like and struggle to turn it down when it’s offered to me. He, on the other hand, is extremely picky about his desserts and will maybe eat one out of every 20 he’s offered—and even then it’s like one bite. I wish I had his will power!
So I’ve had to get creative when it comes to baking him sweet treats for his birthday. More often than not I’ll ask him what he wants over and over until I just can’t wait any longer and just make what sounds good to the kids and I—after all we’ll be the ones eating most of it! If I’m lucky I’ll be able to tempt him with a bowl of vanilla ice cream, and even that’s rare.
But I do know his one dessert weakness. The one flavor combination he just can’t turn down. Chocolate and peanut butter. He’s obsessed! He even requests I don’t keep peanut butter cups in the house because of his lack of will power (so I just keep a secret stash!).
So when he turned 40 last year I knew just what to make to tempt this taste buds.

Quick tip: You can use a boxed chocolate cake mix if you’re in a hurry or just don’t have the ingredients to make homemade cupcakes.
