Be a Supper Superhero! Serve This Tasty Meal Tonight

Minimal ingredients and prep time make this a dinner winner—try it for yourself.

Growing up sloppy Joes were one of those dinners that my mom served us when she needed to make something quick that she knew my siblings and I would eat without a fuss. It was always the same recipe and always served on whatever were the cheapest hamburger buns she could get her hands on at the time. I still have fond memories of those sandwiches, and make them often for my family today.

But sometimes I get an itch to try something new. So the other night when my oldest requested sloppy Joes for supper I asked him if he’d be okay if I kept all the messy goodness of our old standby and gave it a bit of a twist.

With his blessing I started looking for ways to take the old and make it new—and there definitely wasn’t a shortage of ideas! I still wanted something easy, so when I stumbled across this recipe I knew it was the one I had to try.

I pulled out my ingredients and set to work, and in under an hour I had a delicious dinner ready to serve. My kids LOVED this meal, and thought it was even better than our typical sloppy Joes.

Quick tip: Use any leftover sloppy Joe meat as a tasty dip for chips—just top with some shredded cheddar and dig in!
