This Hearty Dish Is Perfect For Family Get Togethers
My husband and I recently moved back to my home town and I’m taking advantage full advantage of living near my family and friends again. We had moved away for his job, but he was just tranferred back after five years away and I couldn’t be happier.
After we settled into our new house and routine my mom suggested taking up our old tradition of Sunday suppers at their home a few miles away. It’s a night for all my siblings and I and our kids to get together and visit. Everyone who can show up does and everyone brings something to contribute to the meal.
I’m not much of a baker so I always like to contribute something savory to the spread. And while my husband and I may have spent a few good years in a bigger city, I’ve always been a small town girl at heart. And nothing says small town comfort food to me like a good old fashioned casserole. I think they’re perfect for just about any occasion.
The day before out first dinner all together as a family again I searched my pantry for inspiration and found a sleeve of Ritz crackers that needed to be eaten up. And a light bulb went off in my head.
